Our Fierce Differences takes place in a world called the Radiant Isles. It is vast land of interconnecting floating islands that hosts a stunning variety of life, most of them with the ability to fly to traverse the Three intelligent disinct species exist within the lands, the Narakyian, the Gardlian and the Irenians.
It is a vast land that has no sun, but instead a huge tower called the Beacon emits sun-like light. Large islands called the Upper continents float around the tower and at its base a huge desert that spreads out endlessly. The Upper Continents has diverse biomes, hosting both seas, deserts, lush rainforests and snowy mountains and Meanwhile the desert inhabited by the Narakyian, often known as the Endless Sands, has a huge sea consisting of sand that churns like water. It spreads out from the base of the Beacon, its environment becoming more brutal as you go further into it. The Sands contain whales, sharks and fish of huge sizes that are hunted by Narakyian.
Narakyian inhabit the desert. They are huge, powerful and make natural warriors, preferring to fight rather then talk. The seat of power is the Kingdom of Illesh which has existed for less then 40 years. It is currently ruled by King Zariah and the Narakyian have a military presence in the Upper Continents.
They have a large set of horns that are diverse to each person and their skin colours range quite warm, from reds to warm greys. Their bodies are tough and huge, often have markings on their face or around their body.
Gardlians exist in the lush, warmer zones of the Upper Continents where they live within a complicated system of city-states that have ongoing complicated political disputes. Their society is ruled by mostly merchants and traders.
Gardlians have stout bodies and short wings with antler like horns that grow in every fall. They are typically warm greens and greys with small spots dotting their bodies and they are generally half the size of a Narakyian. Their language is very diverse, often referred to as common, with multiple strange dialects depending on where the Gardlian comes from.
Irenians live in the very top of the Upper Continents where the heavy rainful turns to snow. They live in small, isolated villages hidden by mists that have strict rules for living governened by an over-arching religion. They have lithe, small bodies built for the cold, with bright red eyes and they’re excellent swimmers, with fish being their main source of food. They are a very rare sight outside of the mountains.
